Just tried to give her some honey diluted in water and it ended bad. Not sure if it was the honey or the smell of it made her gag. But she immediately started coughing and ended up vomiting some of her dinner. Which I was sad about bc it's the first time in weeks she ate decently!!!

Used a natural vapor rub which has eucalyptus oil & peppermint so we'll see if that helps.

@brownie: we tried coconut yogurt and she did NOT like it! Neither did I. Almond yogurt she loves but there's so much sugar in it! :/ Which probiotic do you use?

@Mrs. Pen: hmm doesn't it seem counter intuitive to give my baby something that has a lot of pollen for a pollen issue??

@regberadaisy: We had good success with coconut yogurt and ended up buying nonallergen probiotics to add to food. No milk required.

@swurlygurl: Oh yes! This! I totally forgot... We buy local honey too and I remember hearing you're not supposed to eat raw honey from anywhere other than locally because of the pollen. I heard that our pollen here in Minnesota is really high allergen or something?? But anyway yah I heard the same thing!

@regberadaisy: good luck with honey! FWIW I think raw honey might be "safer" than processed honey... but I have no idea if that's true or not.

@brownie: if M does OK with milk I plan to give her probiotics and/or kefir! So much good stuff.

Our dr recommended children's Zyrtec. It is safe under 2. We also do zarbees cough syrup at night. Zarbees is natural and honey based. We did local honey for about 3 months and didn't notice any positives.

hm. raw honey or not? I have a container of local, raw honey. I can probably dilute it in water?

Honey, especially for coughing at night. Now that she's a year old, just feed her a teaspoon before bedtime and it should help.
Local honey is even better if it is from allergies.

If you think it's caused by allergies:

I don't know if this *really* works (and you might not be able to try it if DD is too young), but DH and I swear by local honey. We both had really bad allergies - to the point of stepping outside and getting insanely miserable. We started eating a lot of local honey after I read an article that it helps, and now we have NO allergy symptoms! We're able to open the house even! The theory behind it is that you're ingesting the local pollen by eating honey, so your body builds up an immunity to it or something? I don't quite remember, but something like that...

Does anyone have any natural antihistamine remedies?

M has been coughing up a storm for the past few weeks, runny nose, watery eyes. Her coughing fits keep her up at night. :(

Thanks!
