Thanks everyone. On the manufacturers site for our model it says propane only. They sell conversion kits for other models but they are about double the price for the 5 burner Druze we got.
It is annoying since we have the natural gas line already set up. However we decided to just keep this for now and have two propane tanks, so we always have a backup. :meh:
@gotkimchi: i love coal grills and nearly bought one! Apparently though we can put wood chips in the gas burner somehow to get that smoky flavor

If they don't sell a conversion kit to NG for your grill, I would exchange it for one that was NG. Growing up we always used propane because we had an all electric house (my uncle did run a line off of his huge tank for his house to his grill :silly: ). Now that I have a house with NG for heat and hot water, I would run a line off of it in a heartbeat when we buy a new grill that isn't charcoal.

We've always just had propane and always just have an extra tank around and it's not a big deal...

Eh. I think natural gas is preferable but propane is not really a huge deal. When we rebuilt our patio last year we had to sacrifice our natural gas connection in the redesign. We were bummed but it’s ending up being no big deal.

I would get another one that you can connect directly. I would not want to deal with propane tanks if I had a line available.

Our propane tank was always empty so my husband bought a second one so we could swap the empty out for a full and then refill at our leisure, and now we have two propane tanks that are always empty.

Go for natural gas.

Natural gas for sure. We switched about a year ago and love ours. So much less hassle and never running out of propane mid cooking.

Natural gas for sure since you already have the setup for it. We hate dealing with propane.

Ooof, hard choice. I'd hunt around for one that could run on your natural gas and see what the prices are like. Then, I'd check to see if your manufacturer sells conversion kits or if there is one compatible for your grill: https://www.familyhandyman.com/grills/gas-grill-propane-to-natural-gas-conversion/view-all/

Don't forget to factor in time too, if you switch, you may have to return the current grill, then go buy the new one, if you convert, that may be a longer project than you anticipate.

If it is within $50 of the one you have, I'd stick with it.

During the fahers day sale we bought a gas grill. We assumed it could be converted to natural gas. But after picking it up from the store( they wouldnt deliver) and setting it up we realized what we bought is propane gas only and not dual. We are a bit bummed because we have a gas line that we could have connected to the grill to avoid dealing with propane tanks.
We are torn between keeping the grill since we like everything about it and got a great price, or returning it for a model that can run on natural gas.
WWYD?
