@regberadaisy: I would start with a good probiotic - everything I have read says good gut health means over all wellness

@StbHisMrs: I've heard a lot of good things about the natural healing powers of Apple cider vinegar!

@stiletto_mom: @Greentea: haha we eat so much garlic it's ridiculous.
Greentea our processed food intake is very very minimal. My rule for dinner is always a protein and veg and starch because I like it. ;) we eat fish weekly. And eat super foods on a almost daily basis.

I would approach it from a diet standpoint. Greens everyday? Foods with probiotics? Lots of garlic and fresh, lots of healthy fish, local organics... Tea everyday. This approach has changed my life. Also, near- obsessive handwashing.

At the earliest signs of a cold, get him to eat raw chopped garlic. If he doesn't like the taste, pop it like a pill.

Vitamins, exercise, lots of water, lemon ginger water, green tea all help to boost immune systems.

We use EO's (diffuse Four Thieves, and apply to bottoms of feet daily), probiotics, vitamin c & d, and when we feel a cold coming on we drink apple cider vinegar and absorbic acid mixed into juice.

I've also heard that drinking kombucha tea is helpful, I haven't tried that. The scoby creeps me out

Lemon water each day. An adrenal support (I'll snap a photo of mine). Probiotic (a good one with at least 10 bil. cultures). Exercise, eat well, get good sleep.

I'm so sorry for him. I had surgery last year, and my immune system was just done. It took a lot to get back to good health. Sending healing thoughts his way.

it's not a vitamin, but I know they make supplements of it, so maybe it counts? But I'm a big fan of EOs- specifically I diffuse doterra On Guard all day in our home and then keep a roller ball with it for application.

I  Sambucus also! Does he take a multivitamin? You might also ask his doctors about vitamin D testing...

ETA: Sorry just noticed you did mention a multivitamin!

I'm sorry, that's awful! Poor guy. That sounds like my husband :( Last fall DS started day care, and they both went through several ear infections, bronchitis and antibiotics that winter. I didn't even know adults get ear infections. In his case, though, the problem seemed to be more stress than his natural immunity... he was in a very bad situation at work. It's gotten a little better and he doesn't get sick nearly as easy.

As far as supplements, did your family try taking elderberry/sambuccus syrup? We started giving it to DS this fall, and he's done much better, though I really can't tell whether he's building up an immunity or the syrup is helping. Sometimes we take it too, but just the fact that DS is bringing fewer bugs home is keeping us healthier.

So my DH has always had a horrible immune system. When DD1 started daycare he was practically sick the whole first year. She got a sniffle and he would get a full blown cold. Now DD2 started daycare right after Thanksgiving. He's literally had maybe 10 healthy days since Thanksgiving! He was always very very sick as a kid so it's no suprise his immunity is so weak.

Anyway, what are some natural ways we can boost his immunity? He needs to get better about taking his multivitamins. He's on a couple other pills already for health reasons so I know he doesn't want to really add more pills but if you can lead me to research that shows it works I'll try to convince him.

We already eat really healthy but can definitely improve even more on that front. He exercises when he can; when he's not sick! He's seriously one of the healthiest person I know and it sucks that he's sick so much. :(

Any other tips?
