@misolee: I was wondering if it was cysts enlarging actually. Who knows. If I can ever get in I’ll report back!

I have the Skyla and I spotted for like 8 months continuously after I got it but no nausea. About a year and a half after, I randomly got this weird heavy bloating period for two cycles and after ultrasound and lots of tests, OBGYN said I had these polyps that get bigger during the menstrual cycle and sometimes one can get bigger than normal and cause other side effects. All to say after this one expires, my husband is going to go see a doctor.

@dc yoga bee: Have you heard of Skyla? It has less hormones than Mirena.

I have PCOS and tried BC(not the IUD) and just bled so much. I stopped taking BC. DH is not interested in a vasectomy and I don’t want to keep on trying hormonal BC. We are both comfortable with the choice.

@dc yoga bee: I had paraguard and I felt pregnant every month. Nausea, sore breasts, bloating. Honestly the experience was intolerable (also had bad bleeding). I lasted maybe 6 months.

We did "au natural" and made it work. Had another baby (on purpose) and we're back to no prescribed birth control. Not interested in hormonal bc so this will be it.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I used to vomit and pass out from my hormones when I go au natural (and vomited like clockwork on the patch). A few months ago I ended up getting sick and passing out in the middle of the night and my first concern was that the hormones of my Mirena had worn off. Everybody is so different. I hope you find something that works for you quickly!

I hadn’t heard that, but I definitely believe it. I feel like side effects can be so weird and vary so much from person to person. If you’re done having kids, can your DH get a vasectomy?

Anyone have severe nausea with an IUD? I’ve had Mirena for almost exactly a year. About five months ago I started having horrible nausea and nearly fainting. I had severe hyperemesis with my other two but I knew I wasn’t pregnant. I would’ve been throwing up really badly immediately! So, doctor ran a bunch of tests and no I wasn’t pregnant and nothing wrong. We are now hearing that nausea is a side effect of iud and I’ve also had weight gain even thought I’m riding peloton regularly and diet is on point. I gained weight the first time I had a Mirena too. I can’t even drive without feeling bouts of nausea. I’m also allergic to latex and nickel and copper. So, it looks like we will be going au natural. I don’t know if pcos made me this sensitive to hormones or what. Anyone else had weird side effects?
