Pullen Park in Raleigh is fun for kids. They have an old carousel and some other rides for small children. It is right next to my alma mater NC State University. Go Wolfpack! 🐺

We lived in Durham until this year. In addition to the suggestions already made:

Notasium in Durham can be really fun if you have kids 4 and under. It’s a musical play space with kareoke rooms.

The UNC Botanical gardens are a nice place to walk around and let your kids stretch their legs. There’s also a bit of a sand box and some outdoor play stuff for kids maybe 5? And under.

Definitely tons of public parks and Marbles in Raleigh is worth the drive.

Duke Lemur Center! DH and I went (kid-less) and it was so cool. They offer special tours for the under 8 crowd, too.

The museum of life and science in durham is AMAZING. We go a few times every visit (my parents are in Durham). I've heard that the natural history museum and marbles in Raleigh are also good.

We spend a lot of time hiking in Duke Forest (there are lots and lots of trails), or in state parks on the Eno river.

Hillsboro is sweet, there is a nice river walk, and it's a cute small town.

Also, Maple View creamery is a fav (it's outside of chapel hill).

In Chapel Hill, there is Kidzu children’s Museum. It’s not great, small and over priced, really best for kiddos under 4.

I live in Durham. There is the Museum of Life and Science which is great! It’s huge- you could easily spend an entire day there, and it’s great for all ages (even adults). There are trampoline places Sky Zone and Defy Gravjty. The weather will be probably be nice, here are tons of parks in Durham and Chapel Hill. There’s a blog called Stircrazy Moms of Durham- it has a TON of ideas and reviews of local parks, museums, etc.

We're going to be spending a week in Chapel Hill at Thanksgiving and looking for some kid-friendly activities in the area. Any suggestions?
