@illumina: @Mrs. Polish: @cheert16: @Smurfette: @Dandelion: Thanks so much for your advice, ladies!!! He actually ended up waking up on his own about 10 minutes before I was going to wake him. He was pretty upset though - not sure what that was about, but I was able to nurse him and then since he still seemed hungry and awake, I fed him solids. At first he resisted the solids, but he eventually ate a bunch! And then he went back to bed without a fuss! Thanks again!!

@Adira: I'd nurse because he can do that whilst in a sleepy state. No idea about the solids though...isn't it still ok to skip meals (days?) up to a year old? I don't know! Good luck!

@Mrs. Polish: @cheert16: Okay, thanks! Maybe what I'll do is wake him up and nurse him (that's my gentle way of waking him) and then if he's alert, I'll do solids after. And then right back to bed!

I would wake him and give him some solids- then either nurse of a bottle. He is pretty good with bedtime right?

@Adira: we're pretty good on solids, but I make sure he gets more of a bottle than filling up on solids. I'd try bottle.

@Mrs. Polish: Or even a bottle? I'm just worried he won't even eat if I wake him up - he's so picky with solids sometimes, but he'll take milk anytime!

@illumina: @Mrs. Polish: So here's another question... Do you think I could get away with just nursing him? Or should I do solids? Normally I don't nurse this late and we just do solids, but he might be more willing to nurse if he's sleepy... just not sure it will sustain him all night...

I'd wake my lo, but we never have an issue going to sleep at bedtime. It depends on your lo.

So Xander (10.5 months) didn't take his second nap at daycare today, so he ended up passing out in the car on the ride home (side note: Yay! The car seat must be comfy!). He barely even stirred when I got him out of the car seat, brought him in the house, and took off his coat and hat! So... I brought him to his room and put him down in his crib and he immediately rolled over and fell back asleep.

Now I'm not sure what to do. Normally when we get home from daycare, he has dinner (7-10 oz). Should I wake him at some point to have dinner?? I'm worried he'll be a big cranky mess if I wake him and refuse to eat. But if I don't feed him, he'll probably wake up in the middle of the night hungry...

It's 5:30 now and his bedtime is usually 7:30...
