@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: hahaha I actually was replying right after you posted but DH kept bugging me with questions - I finally said, "wait, I need to finish a response."

I bet it's no big deal, especially if she posted to her wall after you messaged her the invite. But I hate getting in those situations! FWIW, I like @MaisyMay:'s response!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I would just be honest and say "hey - someone offered to take the ticket. Is that alright with you? I figured since I didn't hear a response that you might not be interested" or something along those lines.

What about 'Hey. I know I messaged you about the concert, but XX was pushing me to finalize all of the concert plans and since I didn't hear back to you, I had to make alternate arrangements. Maybe next time we'll be able to go."

Ok...my OOT friend is not coming to the concert with me, to fly back here was $370, a bit pricey for a super quick mid week trip.

So I did something and it's messy...

I reached out to a good friend's fiance. She just moved here to start her residency. Me and her aren't friends, but we get along. And she's on time. So I sent her a FB message, wrote on her wall to direct her to the message and texted my friend to ask her to check her FB message. I did this several hours ago and I know she was on FB because she posted to her wall. No response from either of them.

DH has been getting antsy about the ticket and kept asking me if I contacted my local friend. Due to radio silence with my back up I just did. She immediately responded and is stoked! I told her I would know for sure by Friday. Now, I am still worried about her being late, but she was super excited and that warmed my heart.

How do I get out of the back up? I don't want to wait for a response especially if she says Yes only for me to tell her No. I want to send her a wrap up FB message ASAP.
