@Caly: haha--that's me! I am going to be just 5 months pregnant but I am the same size I was at 7 months pregnant the first time around. Yikes. No way could I fit on a non maternity dress right now.

I was six weeks into my first pregnancy when I was asked to be in a wedding and I just told the bride. Turned out I probably could have fit into a much smaller dress than the two sizes up we ordered... I didn't show much until the last month.

This was my sister for my wedding. She told me so we tried to come up with both preg or not preg options. We ended up doing j crew dresses and she just ordered hers after she knew she was pregnant. She was about 6 month pregnant at the wedding.

I was on the other side with a bridesmaid who ended up being pregnant for my wedding. She mentioned TTC to me & ordered a couple sizes up just in case. She ended up being about 2-3 months pregnant (w/her first) at the wedding and (not exaggerating) looked approx 5-6 months pregnant. Needless to say, she first tried on her dress (don't ask me why she didn't before) on Thurs before the Sat wedding and the dress didn't fit. The dress shop worked with her and swapped out her dress (they were black) and it all worked out. Try not to stress too much about or whichever you choose, it all works out & sometimes there's a funny story in the end.

I was in a similar situation as well. I decided to keep quiet about it. In the end, she picked a few styles for us to choose from. When I had to order, I wasn't pregnant, so I talked to the ladies about what size to get and which style would be best in case I wouldn't be pregnant and it would have to be taken in.

Well, I wasn't pregnant for the wedding either. The dress literally fell off me when it came in and I was crushed. I found an amazing seamstress, and she worked her magic. The dress fit perfectly, maybe a little looser than I would have ordered it, but at least I wasn't on a celery diet leading up to the wedding.

I was in a similar situation, we had to order the dresses 8 months in advance. I had to tell her because I needed to order the dress 2 sizes up just in case, and the bridal salon flat out asked if anyone might be preg on the day of her wedding. Plus I thought she should know that I might be at any stage of pregnancy on her big day, bachelorette etc. Plus she is a good friend and I appreciate her support. It is now 2 months away and I'm not preg yet, but I'm glad I told her and that the dress is big enough, just in case My boobs get huge if it happens soon

@autumn865: I'm not sure where we would order from. She sent me a link to some wedding website that seems to compile all bridesmaid dresses to search from. That's good to know though about David's Bridal.

@Mamaof2: @Anagram: @snowjewelz: Thanks guys! I was leaning toward telling her but have never really talked to anyone other than DH (and HB  )about TTC and this time around I think both our parents pretty much know. It feels weird to have people know and all that. Her & I have also been in very different life stages so I didnt ever talk to her about our kids plan because I know she really wanted to be there but was waiting for the right guy.

Where will you be getting the dress from? I was in a wedding where we ordered our dresses from David's Bridal and I ended up getting pregnant the following month. They let me go back and change my dress size in the order. Tjey were very flexible with me (the dress was fitted and satin so thank goodness I could change the size!) I ended up being 20 something weeks pregnant at the wedding. Smaller dress shops probably can't be as flexible though.

Agree... If you can tell her, tell her. If you don't want to, play it by ear? Maybe she ends up picking flowy dresses anyway... Or you can try to steer her that way

I would tell her you are TTC and talk about options. I was in a similar situation in that I was asked to be a bridesmaid when I'd just started TTC--I told my friend I would love to do it, but I might be pregnant at the time (and had no idea how pregnant I might be since we were just starting to try).

This was before the bridesmaid dress talk came up--but I do that it influenced her decision about our dresses. In the end, she had us pick any dress we wanted in Ivory or Champagne. So I have a Champagne colored maternity dress.

Even if she picks her dress this weekend, you don't have to order this weekend. You can at least wait till the TWW is over and order then. At that point, I would definitely order a few sizes up if you need to and have it tailored to fit elsewhere.

One of my best friends is getting married in September and I'm in the wedding. She wants to pick the bridesmaid dresses this weekend. I'm currently in my TWW and she has no idea we are TTC again. I might not even get pregnant soon but if I did this month I would be about 6 months pregnant with #3 when it's her wedding.

Would you keep your mouth shut and just guess on a dress size? Would you tell her and hope for a flowy dress style? I don't know what to do!?!
