Also find a new spot for the garbage. No need to paint or buy a bigger table. The first thing I'd try is to remove the microwave and table that it's on. Add a tall plant on that corner instead. Greenery would brighten up the room. And they will properly light and expose the pictures, so the yellow ambient lighting doesn't matter. The paint totally doesn't matter since it's already a neutral, the photographer can easily adjust the temperature of the entire photo, making it look more gray or whatever.</p> <p>And I'd leave the curtains. Even with a window and doors to the outside it always feels dark. I think white is fine. I agree with Looch remove the furniture that the microwave is on. Store the microwave somewhere when you're showing the house. You don't want to draw attention to the storage issues! Per Young House Love's selling suggestions, I'd remove almost everything from the counter tops (paper towels, Kuerig, knives). When we bought the table, you couldn't but then we changed the in-swinging door to this awesome sliding door and you can fit a real table there.
