I was switching over completely, but I did as @misstatas: said and gradually upped the amount of formula vs breastmilk in one bottle, then introduced one extra bottle per week. It worked really well and seemed nice and gentle on DS. Taking it slowly will also help you avoid any discomfort from missing feeds!

My doctors office recommends that you slowly introduce formula whenever possible. So start giving bottles 3/4 breastmilk 1/4 formula then 1/2 & 1/2 then 1/4 breastmilk 3/4 formula. It also helps them adjust to the taste.

Before I returned to work she got maybe one bottle of formula
Per day. It wasn't such a tough transition for her to drink the formula (and pumped milk) from the bottle once I returned to work! I nursed in the morning, when I picked her up, and MOTN.

. The only thing I wish I had done was look into slow nipples. I wish I'd researched and found the "slowest nipple
Ever" (lol) because she totally got used to the fast flow and started preferring bottles over BF . I used level 1 dr brown so not
Even sure if there's a slower nipple? If there's a LO #2 I'll be sure to research

I did this -albeit when LO was 10 months. I just started feeding her from a sippy once a day before I breastfed. It took ~ a month, but by the time I had left she was drinking from the sippy well. Perhaps you could do something similar, maybe with a bottle if he's not ready for a sippy.

So I'm going back to work when my son will be just around 7 months. He's been EBF, and has taken bottles of expressed breastmilk maybe 10 times or so. I'm not at all interested in pumping at work so I'm going to start him on formula for his day feeds, and hopefully keep breastfeeding him morning, late afternoon, bedtime and MOTN feeds. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on making the transition? I've got about 7 weeks til I go back to work so I would like to do it gradually. I've started introducing solids but he's not really that interested yet. Thanks for any advice you might have!
