@winter_wonder: I see you're pregnant! Congrats! May I ask if clomid worked for you or did you move on to other interventions?

@lauren0817: Thank you for the advice. I think we will move on in a few months if this combo doesn't work. Given my age and general good health, I've been reluctant to move on to the expense of an RE. However, it's getting to be that time. As far as tracking my cycles, I've never read TCOYF, but I'm familiar with the methodology. I can say with relative certainty that I don't ovulate on my own with regularity. The reason why is less clear.

@travellingbee: Thanks for reaching out! I know I've seen your journey before and I'm so happy y'all were successful. We had a chemical pregnancy almost exactly a year ago which was pretty devastating and started what probably has been the worst year of my life to date. But I'm glad to be starting back again. I have a consult with my OBGYN next week where we'll discuss our protocol. She has not mentioned monitoring to me, but I'm going to push for it. I need to be sure whether I ovulate or not on the clomid. Otherwise, what's the point. I figure I'll give that 2-3 months and then move on to an RE.

I also recommend seeing an RE sooner rather than later. Is your dr. Going to be monitoring you with ultrasound throughout your cycle? I think you get so much more information that way about how your body is responding to the medications. I was on clomid, HCG trigger and progesterone (but not for the same reason). I got pregnant the second cycle after trying this combo.

Also I tracked my cycles really closely and found out that I was ovulating on my own, but just sometimes very late. I read this book and used these cycle tracking methods - it was really helpful for me to figure out what was going on with my cycles : http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-Fertility-Anniversary-Edition/dp/0060881909

I completely understand how overwhelming it can be at first! My advice would be to see a specialist (a reproductive endocrinologist) sooner rather than later if your treatment is not successful. I felt like I got so much more information and support once I started seeing my RE :) They will usually do a lot more testing than an Ob/Gyn to look into any other potential issues. I also have polycystic ovaries and did a few cycles of Clomid (all but the first also with IUIs) - I ovulated on Clomid, but didn't get pregnant. I ended up doing IVF and am now pregnant with our first :) Keep us updated on how your cycle is going!

I just wanted to say good luck! I've used all the meds you've used minus the Clomid. Easy peasy once you get used to it. You'll be great ☺

@agold: Thanks so much for your concern and well wishes! It means a lot. Anxious is probably a better description for it, although sometimes I really am scared. I worry it won't work, I worry because I don't really know why I have cysts and why I don't ovulate regularly. I guess I'm just grateful that the overall prognosis appears to be relatively positive and that we have a lot of options left. I got really depressed earlier in the year about TTC (I had to be put on medicine) and I'm hoping to just stay positive this time.

I'm so sorry you are scared. I know that it is a scary thing. I don't have any experience with that exact combination of drugs. But I have taken estradiol and progesterone and, in fact, just finished a couple of weeks of those this morning. I haven't had any problems except maybe getting a little overly emotional a day or so after each estradiol shot. Good luck to you! :goodluck: You can do this! :goodluck:

Hi all!

My husband and I have decided to get back in the saddle TTC. We began our journey in January 2014 and have been trying on and off since. For the last six months we've been NTNP. He has no issues but I've got cystic ovaries. All bloodwork recently came back completely normal meaning I don't fit the PCOS profile- so my doctor (still with my obgyn) thinks I just don't ovulate on my own.

This cycle we're going on medicine for the first time - clomid, metformin, estradiol, and progesterone.

Any advice or success stories are welcome. I have to admit I'm pretty scared.
