Yesterday we had tacos (didn't use seasoning packet, just used our own spices). That went over really well because DD got to have a soft taco with a tortilla (picky eater but got much better when she hit age 4), I had it salad style, and DS just ate his meal with a spoon. They loved sprinkling cheese and dipping in sour cream. It was also quick which was helpful since my DH is out of town.
ETA: I used this recipe for the spices and upped paprika and garlic and omitted red pepper flakes. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/taco-seasoning-i/ With sour cream, cheese, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes, it was not spicy at all for the kids.

Dinner is so challenging in our house. Both Charlie and Olive don't have big appetites, and will often eat very little or not at all, even with foods they like. It's so discouraging to spend time researching recipes, buying the ingredients, cooking it, only to have the kid refuse to taste it or take one bite and refuse to eat the rest.

A mom in Charlie's class told us that her picky son magically started eating like a horse once he turned 6. He was growing so much and just needed the calories. I hope that happens to us??

So tell me hive. What are some dinner recipes that your little ones have been loving lately? I'm in a rut. I don't make the foods that I like because the kids don't like them (mostly spicy), and they don't consistently eat the foods they love either.

I need some dinner inspiration!
