It seems like it fits your desires a bit more and has a great lyrical quality. I will say that everyone where I live pronounces Sela SEE-la because of Sela Ward. But it could be regional! And I don't think a (slight) chance of mispronunciation should impact your decision. I think it most likely happens since there are so many people with that name here. </p> <p>My daughter's name is not easily pronounced from the spelling and it's way less of an issue than I expected. Now we've found out that the baby is definitely a girl, so we have to get serious with choosing a name. DH is a serial name veto-er so this is what we've come up with that we both actually agree on! Just a little bit of info...DD's name is Alice. We would like something that fits with Alice, but it doesn't necessarily have to be an old-fashioned name. Our last name is two syllables starting with a K. Here are our choices:</p> <p>Sela (pronunciation SAY-la),<br /> You guys have me great feedback on this name before, and I decided the Sela spelling is better than Selah although I know it may easily be mispronounced. DH likes this one a lot.</p> <p>June<br /> We thought about this name for DD, but it feels somewhat not substantial enough. Could be the one syllable. I do like that this fits with Alice. DH likes this name the least of the four.</p> <p>Lilia<br /> This is a new addition. I like it a lot but worry that it would be shortened to Lily which is lovely, but a little more common than I was hoping for.</p> <p>Mira<br /> This one fits all of the criteria. I like it, but not sure if I "love" it. </p> <p>What do you think? We're at a standstill - feedback would be great! </p>
