Thanks for all the great ideas, ladies! I don't know why I hadn't thought of short boots or booties before. I am definitely going to try to find a pair of those to carry me through the fall. Lol at everyone just wearing Uggs. I don't actually have Uggs anymore but if I did, I'd probably do the same thing. :)

@Foodnerd81: Just started wearing a support belt too and agree, it definitely helps!

I think slip on booties/ankle boots would work great

It's not super cold where I live so I mostly wear uggs - easy to put on and take off and comfy

My back hurt so badly that it was excruciating for me to do longer walks in anything except my big nerdy white gym sneakers. I would change when I arrived somewhere if I wanted to look nicer but I just couldn't walk in anything else. Luckily I had the baby in December since that would have been cold in the slush. Cheap shoes and pregnancy just don't work for me, my back would be awful.

Speaking of which I highly recommend a maternity support belt for the walk if you don't already wear one!

Lol I wore black Uggs for my winter pregnancy. I'm pretty sure I freaked my boss out enough so she didn't give me grief about it because one day my feet swelled up SOOO bad they were almost double the size. Just wore them with my dress pants 0:)

Oh crap! I gave birth early December last time so I just made do with whatever. I'm due in Jan this time; my work place is pretty casual so I'm probably just going to live in Uggs if it's cold, and wear furry moc's if it's not TOO cold.

What about some inexpensive ankle boots? I'm in the third trimester and have been getting away with flats for the time being being but I lived in some leather Franco Sarto ankle boots last year when non-pregnant (I tried them on the other day, though, and my old ones don't accommodate my swollen feet but it was really a matter of having gone up a size for me - no calf issues to worry about). Nordstrom has some cute styles if you don't think your foot size has changed dramatically. I was thinking of heading over to Famous Footwear or some discount type place to see if I could find a decent pair.

I remember that first morning when I couldn't zip up my boots! No one told me about that.

How about a pair of booties? They have really cute ones now, I am partial to the chukka style.

I have a pair of suede Clark's Desert Chukkas that I love. They are pretty comfortable and supportive. Not sure I'd love them with leggings, but they look great with skinny jeans!

What about something like the Sole Society Natasha boot? Cute and loose around the ankle, but still "boot" enough to look good with tighter pants. I haven't tried them on to see how comfy they are!

Ugh. I totally had this problem. Long walk, cold winter, fat calves.

I ended up in a pair of Clarke's booties. They weren't completely stylish but I was happy to wear them. I fondly refer to them as my pregnancy shoes.

Another criteria you should consider is slip on slip off. Towards the end reaching around a huge belly and tying or fastening shoes is such a pain.

I'll go look for a link to "pregnancy shoes."

ETA: Mine were like this:

I've never been pregnant in the winter, but I love my Columbia snow boots. They lace up so they would accommodate a wider calf. Are you interested in booties? There are tons of cute ones out now.

This is the time of year when I normally break out my tall boots and live in them for the next 6 months...except at 31 weeks along, my calves have swollen to the point where I can't actually get my boots zipped! So I'm looking for suggestions for shoes I can wear for the next couple months. My maternity wardrobe is entirely skinny jeans, ponte pants, and leggings, so clog-like shoes look really weird with those. I have been wearing sneakers and Toms, although the Toms don't really have enough support anymore. I have a 1.5 mile walking commute to work, so my shoes have to be pretty supportive. I'm happy to spend a bit more if they are shoes that are stylish enough that I would still wear them post-pregnancy.

Any ideas? What did you guys like in your 3rd tri?
