Ugh, this sounds like what's going on for us right now (LO is 13 months old and is quite opinionated). I am at a loss of what to do too so I am subscribing!

Good luck with your LO... it's the hardest when they work themselves up like that.

We just walk away.. Our LO likes to fling herself on the floor when she doesn't get her way. She normally straightens right up when we ignore her.

Unless she's in danger of hurting herself or breaking something, I remind her to use her words and then ignore it until she calms down.

Pretty much nothing helps and she just has to cry it out and then she is over it! Her tantrums are a minute or two but they feel like hours!

Hugs!

My 15 month old sometimes works herself into a giant tizzy when she tantrums and I don't really know how to deal with it.

Today she ran into the office and started banging on the computer keyboard and when I took her away, she got really upset and threw a giant tantrum.

Attempts to distract her with books, songs, nursing, iPhone only made her more upset. I tried rocking her, holding her & patting her back and she would calm down for about 2 seconds before starting to wail again.

I had hoped to calm her down before putting her down for a nap but it didn't seem like anything was helping, so I just put her in her crib and hoped for the best. She fell asleep within 30 seconds.

What helps your LOs calm down after a tantrum?
