Thank you I'm going to look for a new doctor and make an appointment ASAP. It's been like this for so long that It didn't occur to me to be concerned.

What @ShootingStar: said. Differing cycles are normal, to an extent. 90+ day cycles are generally never normal. I would definitely be calling a doctor. 3 months without a period, and not being pregnant, is something that needs to be looked into.

@Travelinmoon: Welcome! My heart goes out to you TTC between deployments. I am the queen bee of symptom spotting so I definitely need to teach myself to stop doing that! I symptom spotted this cycle and ended up with a BFN anyway. I'm convinced that no matter how hard it is, I need to have self control and just wait things out. If I am pregnant one day, I will surely know in time and so will you. I went to the doctor after having irregular cycles and they determined I wasn't ovulating. I take fertility drugs now. You should definitely go for an appointment just to be sure. Also to your question, the ob/gyn can do an ultrasound to see if you may be pregnant, even before tests can show positive in some cases. Pretty much, in our TTC minds, a negative is finally a negative when our cycles show up and not a moment sooner! I wish you the best of luck!

@Travelinmoon: Definitely go see your OB (or, if you're in an area where they're plentiful--and insurance will pay-- you could skip straight to seeing an RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist))!

So first, 90 day cycles are not normal. If a doctor says that to you again you should seek out a different doctor who's willing to address the problem. I have really long and messed up cycles too caused by PCOS, which is pretty common. I think endometriosis is another common cause of long cycles.

But let's say you did ovulate... Sperm can live for a maximum of 7 days. If you ovulate on the last possible day they could still be alive, that would be 9/30, making today 11DPO. So in theory you *could* be pregnant and not have it show up yet. But it's not all that likely.

I would second @FliegepilzHut: 's book recommendation. I've had long and sometimes erratic cycles, and charting has saved a lot of time. My doctor reviews them and is able to see if I'm not ovulating or if hormones might be out of whack

Best of luck!

My cycles have always been long and erratic. I've been off BCP for almost three years now. I have met with my doctor and he basically told me everyone has there own normal and not to worry, though I was only 23 then so they may feel differently now. Thank you all for your advice.

I second doing another test (maybe a FRER since they are very sensitive). Have you been on birth control recently? How long are your cycles usually? If they're normally less than 35 days (or so), I would recommend getting a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, so that you can familiarize yourself with your cycle and optimize your chances of conception. If your periods have been irregular for a while, I would still get a copy of the book...but probably you need to go talk with your OB and pursue some testing to pin down what's going on with your cycle... If you and DH are serious about TTC, it would help to confirm whether you are ovulating, and, if not, to consider medication to assist ovulation sooner than later (especially given the challenges associated with your husband's deployments). Wishing you the best of luck! :goodluck:

I would probably call a doctor regardless. A 90+ day cycle isn't normal.

I would test again in a few days to be sure. And if AF still hasn't shown up in a week, call to make an appt with my doctor. Are your cycles always this long?

@Travelinmoon: First of all, welcome to HB! I don't know much about long cycles but if you were to ovulate around the time you last had sex, that would you put you around 17 dpo which should give you an accurate answer. Early pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are virtually the same so symptom spotting isn't very reliable. I would probably test in 3 days and take that for truth. Best of luck to you! :goodluck:

Hey y'all, new bee here having some trouble understanding my timeline. My husband had a short window between deployments in which we began trying to get pregnant.
I'm currently on day 94 of my cycle so I can't determine whether I missed a period or even ovulated for that matter. We were active September 23. This morning I took a dollar store test and it was negitive.
I'm trying to not read into any pregnancy symptoms because I know when you want it bad enough you can invent them in your head but I just feel pregnant. My breast are swollen and my pants are tight but it's still early. So my big question is am I testing to early or am I out? At what point is a negitive definitely a negative?
