@LindsayInNY: I know what you mean.. It is frustrating. O'ing, DTD when you should, "regular" cycle and still no BFP! Of course I am jumping to the worse case scenario for myself....

@Claire.Peonies: Thanks :) DH said as soon as AF comes, I need to buy it, LOL! He's not holding back!! I feel like I've done everything I could so far - I'm "regular," appear to be Oing based on OPKs and temping...

@LindsayInNY: your cycles are becoming much more regular since you have been off of OCP. I recommend the preseed. We really like it- i have been using it even if i don't think that i really need it that day- hoping that it will help in the TTC process. Good luck to you!! Fx this is your month lady.

It sounds like things are pretty regular, or at least leading in the direction of more regular since being off BC and 28-34 day cycles seem pretty average to me. I would continue using the pre-seed, taking your vitamins, doing the best you can to relax. Get your DH to give you a few massages per week (my DH does this and it seriously is so relaxing I think it helps take stress out). I don't know if this works or not but stay laying down after BDing. I usually just got right up, but it doesn't hurt. When we conceived A we DTD 8 days in a row. 5 days before O and 3 days after. There was no way we were missing it that time ;) So if you know about what day you O, start BDing 4 days or so before, and continue a few days after your positive OPK. It can get exhausting but it's worth it in the end. Good luck!

I know it's hard not too. But I was perfectly healthy 28/29 year old with 40-45 day cycles. My LP was fairly short as well.... I think like 10-11days? We got a BFP on cycle 9 which for my cycle lengths was longer than 9 months. My OB was willing to refer me to a RE after 6 months so we had actually said if we didn't get a BFP on cycle 9 we were going to see one. But we got our BFP!

And oh this is not being bcp prior to TTC!

Hope yours is soon on the horizon!

Since your cycles seem to be regulating normally after BCP, and your LP has gotten longer, I think you should probably wait a bit longer before going to a doctor. In the meantime please come hang out in the 6 month plus TTC thread!

I think too the six month of trying mark before seeking help doesn't include those first 1-3 cycles while the hormone was getting out. So really you've only missed like three months.

I am in the same boat as you, although I stopped BC about a year and a half ago. We've been trying since January. I noticed my luteal phase has been shorter in the last 3 months, so I stopped doing temping, opks, the whole nine yards because it made me go bonkers.

Now? Just having fun, not thinking about it all the time (it's HARD!!!)

FX for sticky babies!

I wish I had stopped BC much earlier too... If you can read this below (I tried to format it so you could), I started temping in the middle of cycle 2 (the 63 day one). Excluding the pre-AF spotting/discharge, my LP has been 10-12 days or so but keeps getting shorter which worries me. My cycle lengths are all early 30s which is how they were pre-BC too. I just started taking B6 this cycle. If necessary, I'll probably be trying pre-seed next one.

I just stopped the pill 5 or 6 months ago. The first two cycles were odd, but still present-

Cycle #1 was still as if I were on the pill- light and came exactly when I was expected to have it when I was on the pill.

Cycle #2 was almost 40 days long.

Cycle #3 I started OPKs and temp charting at this point and found out that I was getting + opks and ovulating around CD 19. The problem is, AF was coming around CD 28, leaving me with a 9 day LP.

Cycle #4 I started B6. LP lengthened to 10-12+ days the last 2 cycles. Last cycle I thought for sure I was pregnant because my temps remained elevated (although I had BFNs) and period started around CD 30. Started using pre-seed as well.

Cycle #5: This cycle, I dropped temp monitoring (was stressing me out) but continued OPKs. Ovulated again around CD 17. I just got my period on CD # 34. Had a BFN on CD 32.

Any suggestions on things to try?
Are my cycles regular? 28-34 days in length?

When should I start to get concerned? I know they say 12 months is when you should worry, but is 6 months of TTC really the average? Is that taking into consideration those who have been on the pill for years?
I should have stopped the pill months prior to TTC
