I think the primary thing holding me back from hyphenating is that my last name already has an apostrophe, and I see what fits that gives computers. If you like Casper, a girlfriend of mine just named her son "Casimir" (Cas for short). I thought it was interesting! Also, unsolicited two cents: DH and I decided to double-barrel our LO's last name with a hyphen. I don't really like the hyphen aesthetically, but I think it makes it very clear that the last name is double-barreled.
