@Weagle: thank you! I have been positioning her so that she's sitting in it, but with most of the fabric at the top. I bet bunching the excess at her bum will make it feel more stable and not like its cutting into her.

@aprk: good point, her socks can leave red marks at times, and I haven't stopped putting her in those....

Good advice from @Weagle: - the baby should be mostly supported from the bum, and as long as the seat is deep enough for the knees to be higher than the bum, baby should be ok. Remember that even if the fabric pressed against the knees, or even makes a red mark, doesn't mean it's uncomfortable. Just make sure that it's not so tight that it cuts off circulation. (I did that in another carrier type and his foot started to turn blue! It scared the crap outta me, so I am obsessive about checking his legs. They've always been fine. )

I wore LO with her legs out from the beginning. If you make sure the fabric is really in the bend of her knees, the she will be fine. You want her knees higher than her bum so that her bum is taking most of the weight. It will help if you have most of the bunched fabric at her knees rather than on her back.

My LO is 9 weeks old with decent head/neck control and she loves being worn. I usually put her upright facing me with her legs inside like a little pouch. But she's getting bigger and I see mamas carrying in that position with baby's legs out of the sling, like its supporting her bum. I feel like when I do that, the fabric cuts into her legs behind her knees. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips for other carries for a 9 week old?
