Diono radian rtx is great. Goes up to 120 lbs and its great for tall children. If has carrying straps and fold pretty flat so easy storage. We did not have a problem installing it in multiple cars

@mrsjazz: C is like 97% for height and we wanted to extended rear face, so that why we went with the Graco. I paid $150 for it. Other good but more expensive options are the Radian and Chicco NextFit. All these are going to be fairly large seats though.

I find my Graco My Size 4 super easy to install. It fits perfectly in my CRV.

@loveisstrange: Well, air travel is a possibility, but we don't travel much so I'm not too worried about it! LO is in the 95% for height so the Combi doesn't sound like it would be the best for her.

@mrsjazz: the height and weight are pretty low for the Combi, so for long-term RFing, it's not a great choice.

I personally like our Graco My Size, but I don't think it would be wonderful for air travel as it reclines quite a bit.

We were in a similar situation and also just bought the combi coccoro in a panic last week to bring on a plane yesterday. It's the most compact and light one out there which is nice because we'll usually be using it on planes (and maybe buses and trains). It seemed comfortable for LO and was nicely padded unlike reviews for some of the really cheap ones like evenflo and cosco. I think we paid $130 on amazon because the box was a little damaged. My original first choice was the Chicco next fit but it Was heavier and seemed a bit too bulky for our needs though I'm sure it's great.

@mrsjazz: ok, for rear facing and air travel, I would not recommend the Graco my ride. It is very deep, so I feel like it would be difficult to install in tight economy seats.

I would likely get a Britax Roundabout.. I think the weight and height limits are higher than the Combi, but not sure. I think the main bump you are going to have is that a seat where you can rear face for a long time may be too large for air travel.

@looch: we plan on continuing to rear face and possibly use it for air travel.

@Beehive: what don't you love about the seat?

We have the Chicco Next Fit and it's great. Install is super easy and getting a proper, secure installation is the most important aspect of car seat safety.

Are you still rearfacing? Do you need it at all for air travel?

Reason why I ask is that if no to both, you can also consider a harness to booster seat, like the Britax frontier or Graco nautilus.

We have had a variety of Britax seats (even through two accidents...note: we got new ones after each one!), and have always felt that they were safe, so we keep going back to them. They aren't finicky and are comfy for the kids.

Combi Cocorro. It's what the Car Seat Lady recommends for people like you (and me) - don't own a car, want to be able to buckle it in to a cab or other cars easily, lightweight and easy to transport/travel with. I don't absolutely love it (to be honest I miss the infant seat!), but it gets the job done and isn't super expensive either.

We don't own a car and LO outgrew her infant car seat. She's 20 months. We've been putting off buying a car seat but we need to travel via car for Christmas so we need to get one before then.

We need something that isn't heavy and is easy to install in different cars.

Please throw out some names so I can research them. I'm overwhelmed by all of the possibilities and don't have a lot of time!
