They cut out different colored shapes, put some gluestick glue on the back, and then he kind of pushes the shape down on the paper where he wants to. I don't think it's very intentional but it's their way of including him in the project and I love to see it hanging on the walls! Maybe you could cut out a cute turkey body/face and then give R some long pre-cut, pre-glued oval shaped pieces of paper to put down where she pleases?
