So funny (or scary) update. Last night when we were getting ready for bed we told Finley to lay in her bed. She ran to our bedroom, and we said no you don't get to sleep with us tonight (we let her every once in awhile but not very often since we don't want her to get in the habit.) She "glared" at us and jumped on the bed, when DH tried to pick her up to take her to her bed in the living room she growled and nipped at him, this is NOT normal behavior. And so she won and slept on my belly all night long, talk about a couple pushover!!! Tonight things are going to have to change though. doggy bootcamp is starting.

@jessiejo17: I'll be curious how it is when you are on leave. We have two labs and one is clingy anyways. I have no idea how she will act once the baby gets here but hopefully she will be mellow. The other one has no clue how big his paws actually are or how big he is so we already know we will have to keep an eye on him.

@autumnlove: @mrs. wagon: Glad to hear there was no jealousy! She has always been good around kids/babies, but I'm scared that since this one isn't leaving after a couple hours she won't like her as much. The pup will be fine if we are both home and one cuddles with the baby and one cuddles with her, but I'm worried about when it's just me home with both when I'm on maternity leave.

My dog was started getting clingy in my 3rd trimester wanted to spoon all the time. He pouted a bit when the baby came home and refused to be in the same room but things are ok now!

When I was pregnant one of my two dogs literally slept ON me. He does this when I'm sick too. They can totally sense that you're pregnant. For him I think it was more like he thought he was helping me, and once baby came along he never really showed signs of jealousy. We kept the dogs away from the baby for the first month and we never had a problem.

I have noticed that the bigger my belly gets the more needy my dog appears to be. She has always been more into my DH than me, she cuddles with him and wants to be by him. But lately she wants to lay right on top of my tummy or curled up next to me if I'm on my side. I talk to her about the baby and use her name since I read that helps adjust the dog but she never seems interested unless the baby kicks and she feels it, she freaks out a bit.

Any one else notice that their pup became more needy the further along you went? Any tips to help this? I'm becoming more worried about jealousy once baby girl gets here!
