<description>&#60;p&#62;Tell the one you like best that you have another company willing to do the same job for x amount of $, but say you like them better so you'd rather work with them. Then ask if they'd lower their price to x amount of $. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Or tell them that you'll pay them x amount of $ in cash and see if they'd go for it. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Or just call and say you thought it would cost less than their estimate and that you can't afford what their quote is, so would they lower it by 10%. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Just a few options. I'm a firm believer in negotiating.

<description>&#60;p&#62;So my husband and I are looking to hire a landscaper to do some work around our house.  I had three landscape companies come by to give us estimates and they were all very close to each other.  My husband thinks they all inflate their prices and that I should negotiate a cheaper price, like a car dealership.  I don't really feel comfortable doing that, but maybe I should?  Is it normalto negotiate with contractors?  And how do you go about doing it?
