Then ask if they'd lower their price to x amount of $. </p> <p>Or tell them that you'll pay them x amount of $ in cash and see if they'd go for it. </p> <p>Or just call and say you thought it would cost less than their estimate and that you can't afford what their quote is, so would they lower it by 10%. </p> <p>Just a few options. I had three landscape companies come by to give us estimates and they were all very close to each other. My husband thinks they all inflate their prices and that I should negotiate a cheaper price, like a car dealership. I don't really feel comfortable doing that, but maybe I should? Is it normalto negotiate with contractors? And how do you go about doing it? </p>
