@Mae: Ha, glad I could help! I can sympathize as I have those hypochondriatic thoughts as well sometimes. Hopefully yours follows the same course as mine did. I just felt the spot and it still does actually still feel slightly different if I really press on it, but overall I don't notice the numbness at all.

@illumina: Sorry for the thread jack!

@Revel: That is EXACTLY where mine is, except the right side. You have no idea how much better it makes me feel to hear I'm not the only one and you're normal now haha. Even though my doc told me not to worry about it, part of me had that irrational fear like omg what if it spreads and this kid paralyzes me?! hah.

@Mae: I don't mind at all. It was on my left leg, above the knee toward the outer side of the front of my leg, if that makes sense. Kind of like a six or so inch long strip there was just numb for most of pregnancy. I don't think I ever even mentioned it to my midwives, and as I said, at this point it has resolved itself. I do remember noticing it was still there after delivery and wondering if it would ever go back to normal.

@Revel: where was your numb patch and how long did you have it, if you don't mind my asking? I got a numb patch on my legs at 6 weeks and it is SO annoying. I talked to my doc about it and she did not seem concerned, said as long as I am not having weakness not to worry about it. But I'm wondering if it is permanent or if I"ll ever get it back!

Not sure about carpal tunnel, but your thread just reminded me that a numb patch on my leg finally went away! I'm almost 5 months PP, but I think it's been gone since just before or around 12 weeks. I bet you'll still see improvement.

If you had trapped nerves, or carpal tunnel like issues during pregnancy, when did things return to normal? (a nurse at the hospital told me I had carpal tunnel- I'd not known what it was before)

I'm 5wks pp and I still get nerve pain across the tops of my feet if I put pressure on them, same for running my hands over my wrists. I also have some numb, tingly patches on my fingers. I assumed this would all miraculously stop when I gave birth, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Is this normal, or do I need to get checked out?
