I'm sure she will be happy about the baby! The situation may be less than desirable but you surely don't plan on living with them forever :)

I'm sure they'll be happy for you, it sounds like you'll be in a better place financially when this baby arrives if your DH is getting a job soon.

We're expecting our second too, and DH told his parents about 10 days ago. I saw both MIL and FIL 5 times the following week and they did not say a word to me about the baby - did not congratulate me, ask how I was feeling, nothing. So I naturally assumed that they weren't happy about things, but as it turns out they just forgot and have now reassured me they are over the moon. So you never know with inlaws, sometimes they react in strange ways but I'm sure they'll be happy to hear your news.

I think if they were overjoyed the first time they can't possibly be too mad the 2nd time! Congrats. We were living with my ILs when we found out we were having our first, and we were only 23 at the time so I was extremely nervous to say anything, but like you they were just so happy.

My husband, daughter and I live with his parents. They are wonderful, but my MIL can be overbearing and judgemental. My husband is just finishing up his APT in preparation for graduating with his second degree, and is hoping to get a job teaching right away. We're not financially stable, and I am terrified that she won't be happy about this baby.

I was nervous to tell them the first time, but they were overjoyed, so I'm not sure why I'm so afraid.

Help! Talk me off the ledge!
