I just painted over it in a nice light sky blue colour. To keep things simple now that we're turning it into a nursery, we've added yellow as a secondary major colour, with pops of green and white. My DH actually picked the colors just because he liked them. Then you could add either lime green or pink or orange, etc. as accents. We're not going to repaint the room. If it's a boy, we'll accent with blues and browns or teal and browns. I'm planning on using bright primary colors as accents. I've also seen some pretty periwinkles and aquas used for both sexes. You can get the basic supplies (bedding, etc) with just patterns like circles and stripes, in again neutrals like browns or generally multicolored.
