My sister went beige, brown and red. She didn't know the sex of my niece until she gave birth. It's an owl themed room. With a mural painted by me :)

I love Aqua as a neutral paint color for a baby's room, you can girl it up by adding Red or Pink accents and boy it up by adding Greens and other Blues.

when we moved in to our house, our nursery was "spiderman blue" (their little one decided on a spiderman theme for the room, so it was a little intense for us. I just painted over it in a nice light sky blue colour. To keep things simple now that we're turning it into a nursery, we've added yellow as a secondary major colour, with pops of green and white. We're not finding out what we're having either, so it's just happy birght colours.

My BFF is also on team green, and she did her nursery in lime and grey, and it's stunning!

There are some awesome ideas here!!

I never thought of grey before. Also someone said about using a navy blue, that is a great idea because so many other colors go with navy.

I want to change the brown. I do love brown but I want the nursery to have its own identity. Something a little more fun.

I think I am going to look into blues and greys right now.
Thanks for the ideas!! If any one else has more ideas definitely share!

We wanted to start working on the nursery before we found out the sex, and so we went with a Winnie the Pooh theme. We figured it would work great for either a boy or a girl. We didn't paint, but we have various Pooh wall hangings with blue and green.

Little M's room is a silvery gray that I love and can be accented with other colors to make it more gender-specific. Our accent colors are dark pink and white.

We painted the extra room a kind of sage green (it is one of the historical paint colors one can find) and the trim is a mellow yellow. My DH actually picked the colors just because he liked them. Point to this being that we are going to keep it the color combo is it because it looks so nice!

I like everyone's color ideas!

I love navy and cream. Then you could add either lime green or pink or orange, etc. as accents. You could even add them after the baby is born and you know if it's a boy or girl.

I also like bright, basic colors like orange, yellow, green, red, aqua etc. I think using stripes and polka dots and other patterns is a great way to keep it gender neutral.

Our office will become the nursery - it's currently painted a camel color - I think it might be Benjamin Moore Toasted Almond but not sure. We're not going to repaint the room. If it's a boy, we'll accent with blues and browns or teal and browns. If it's a girl, thinking teals and pinks.

PS - I LOVE the gray/yellow combos!

We have a dusty blue/periwinkle guest room and I'm not planning on changing it when it becomes a nursery. I'm planning on using bright primary colors as accents. I figure if we have a boy I can paint green stripes & if we have a girl I can paint gold polka dots on the existing wall color.
If I do repaint I'll be going with the grey/yellow combo or beige & ivory.

I suggest searching on pinterest! We have a grey/blue room that would be a nursery when the time comes and I don't intend to repaint it, boy or girl. Searching pinterest showed me a ton of inspiration for that colorscheme.

I actually am loving a cool gray. It could be paired with lilac or a light green. Here's an inspiration picture of a nursery that I love.

It's the 3rd one down.

I'm a green and yellow fan :)

Now our baby girl's room is green. Eventually when baby number two comes we'll move her into the guest room, which is sky blue. I feel like we can easily girl it up. Unless she hates it.

The browns currently in the room can be used, especially if you end up using an animal or zoo theme.
Grays and purples (lilac) would be a great neutral combo.
An ocean theme is neutral, and you can do this with the right shades of blue.
You could even do the whole room in shades of white.

Honestly, I think some shades of blue are very neutral! We're using an aqua blue in our girl nursery and her carseat and stroller are aqua and gray.

We are not finding out the gender of our baby before birth. We are planning on doing the nursery in grey, white and yellow (grey walls, yellow white and grey linens, and white furniture). I have pinned a bunch of different pictures in pinterest with nurseries I like, and I will pull elements from all of them.

At first I planned on keeping the room closer to the rest of the house (greige walls, brown chair, dark wood furniture), but decided that the nursery could have it's own identity.

I think warm ivorys or light greys can look nice if you want to keep to a neutral palatte in your home. I've also seen some pretty periwinkles and aquas used for both sexes. You can get the basic supplies (bedding, etc) with just patterns like circles and stripes, in again neutrals like browns or generally multicolored. Then you can add pops of color via artwork or other accessories that are tailored to your little one after they arrive.

I have been thinking about the room that we have deemed to be our nursery. (We are not expecting yet but I like to think about this stuff.) Anyways I was thinking about paint colors the other day... And well I have No Clue! We are not finding out the sex when we do conceive and I am just not too sure what color scheme to go with...

Any ideas?
What are some other neutral colors other than the typical green and yellow?
What would you do for colors?

The room is currently light brown... well my whole house is brown. Different shades, yes but essentially brown.
