I've been good at having just enough. I buy a lot from our local consignment shop, so I usually go in and replace things as he grows out of them. He's 17 months now and in 2T. For the summer he had about 10 onesies, 4 pairs of shorts and 4-5 one piece/rompers, plus a couple of things for cooler weather. For winter I'm planning for 5-6 pairs of pants, whatever short sleeve onesies still fit, 7-8 long sleeve onesies, a hoodie, 2 sweaters, and a couple of long sleeve shirts.

We do laundry twice a week, so it seems to be the right amount for him to really get use out of the clothes, but also have enough so that we aren't searching for something for him to wear.

@HeatherlovesKenny: oh my lanta!!!

Nope. I've been good about taking stock of what he needs and buying just those items. We probably have a little more than we *need* but definitely not too much. He's also in an awkward stage right now where he doesn't fit into 3 mos but 6 mos is still too big, except in Carters. But we don't have a lot of 6 mos carters items.

We could clothe triplets, seriously. DH can't help himself when it comes to shopping for our LO. He's ridiculous.

Yes. But it's my fault...I have over bought. DD has 27 pairs of pants but that doesn't include skirts, shorts and leggings. Worst part is they are all 3-6 months and I haven't bought any 9 month clothing yet!

We didn't get many hand me downs at all - I'm so jealous of you! LO had too many 3-6 month clothes b/c of all the gifts we rec'd; she barely wore anything more than twice. I need to see what she has in terms of 6-12 months now...

In the first year, yes, he had too much. Now, I learned my lesson and have scaled back a lot. I would much rather spend my cash on taking him to the zoo or a play area, rather than buying a ton of clothes he's not going to wear.

We don't have anyone handing anything down to us, so it's all out of our pockets.

My daughter in the 3-6 month size absolutely did! I don't think she wore all of the outfits more than once or twice. So, I'm selling them at a consignment sale next weekend. My son, not so much. I don't know why, but he just seems to have just the right amount.

My LO has always had a lot of clothes. Silly me was worried that she wasn't going to have enough winter clothes, but my neighbor randomly dropped by with a big bin of hand me downs and now not only is she set for the next season, but I had to go through and give some back because it was just too much! I hate having clothes sitting there that she'll never get to wear and that will just go to waste, I'd rather them be somewhere getting some use out of them.

Does your LO have a lot of clothes?
