@TheMaraudersDaughter: like the pp's, I think the December chart is gorgeous but the January chart looks great, too. my chart was super thrown off one month because I switched out our down duvet for a lighter quilt at the beginning of summer--took me days of being confused/worried before I figured it out :) so yeah, all kinds of things can make it look wonky.

It took me a couple of months to figure out all of the things that would effect my temps. One glass of wine after dinner would raise my temp a little bit that it was confusing if I didn't also mark it. Also, if i got up to pee to close to when I took my temp it would be higher. But once I figured these things out I could chart really clearly. It's nice to take lots of notes when you are getting used to your patterns.

Thank you ladies!
Feeling a lot calmer knowing it's normal to have charts that look this different, even though the neat freak in me would prefer charts like the first one.

Yes, totally normal. They both show a clear ovulation pattern which is exactly what you want!

It's normal for charts to look different month to month. I would say I have a couple patterns that I see regularly throughout the year. You also changed from oral temps to vaginal temps, so that would cause your chart to look different. Both of your charts look really good though. The most important thing is that you can see a clear shift between the two phases, which both of your charts show nicely.

@TheMaraudersDaughter: yes it's fine your charts will look different month to month. Especially since you changed how you temp. Oral temps can be affected by open mouth sleeping etc. I tend to use my charts mostly for clear ovulation patterns and not stress about the daily temps. I never found correlation between my post O temps and pregnancy until after I got a positive test!

So we're not really trying to get pregnant, but not really trying to avoid it either. I'm mostly charting to get to know my body because I've had trouble conceiving in previous relationships.
Went of the Nuva ring in November and my cycles have been a bit weird but seems to be normalizing now.
My last chart (the one that says December), which was my first full month charting, was absolutely beautiful to me because it had a very clear biphasic pattern. I was hoping my charts would keep looking something like that, but this one (the one that says January) is completely different.

Is it normal for charts to be this different?

Oh, I forgot. First month was oral temping, but decided to temp vaginaly instead so I started doing that when my period started.
