@Weagle
I just posted a comparison of the original and new versions for my work:
http://blog.sweetbottomsbaby.com/new-bumgenius-elemental-diaper/

A lot of people say it reminds them of a Flip cover with the insert sewn in. It is definitely about the same absorbency of a Flip plus OC insert, but it would be a lot easier to stuff it with extras under the material. You also wouldn't have to worry about bunching like you might with a Flip.

I feel like these are also not going to be as tight on the thighs, which would make them a little better for chunkier babes. I've actually never used any Cottonbabies on my son because he is on the bigger side and they tend to run small.

Anyway, hope that helps! ;)

These were my fav diapers! I guess you might need an insert but it depends if you have a heavy wetter or need it for nighttime or for sizing. Not everyone will need it but I guess they like to add the option. They probably cut out the extra fabric inside because I remember the originals having all this extra stuff hanging over that I had to tuck in and seemed like extra bulk.
We only had 3 and hung dry most of the time. we never had any mold issues but they did have some tearing around the edges after awhile of constant use.

@glimmersnaps: Eek! We haven't had any mold problems, but I'll definitely be watching out for it.

@autumnlove: Me too! New colors would give me an excuse to buy a couple of the new style to try :)

@birdofafeather: :( I started using a fleece liner once she started solids, but I think it helps her feel drier too.

We have a couple elementals, but our little lady hates being wet so by the time I've changed her she is freaking out and wet herself so I have to change her again! We prefer the 4.0 with the stay drys even though I thought I'd love the organic part!

We haven't gotten these in our store yet, but I'll try to remember to reply back when we do. I'm not sure if this is the reason for the re-design but I've heard of several customers with mold problems with these. (More so than with any other diaper.) My only guess is that they were so thick that there wasn't enough air getting through all the fabric. It will be interesting to see how the new ones preform.

Yeah it says you can easily tuck in an insert for a custom fit..... But I don't want to use inserts. That's why I bought aio.

Has anyone seen these in person? http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info.php?cPath=98&products_id=4401

I like that they're trimmer, but it looks like they're not as absorbent. It looks easy to add doublers, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of an AIO?
