It was rated at the top and was inexpensive, but it is HEAVY. We also have the first years convertible. We had an orbit baby... when I read the comments... the reason it got basic was because there were signs of more head trauma than other car seats. Maybe we will use something different if we have another baby. The one issue I have with this (if I am reading it correctly) is that it kinda mixes personal preference with safety. For example, our Chaperone fell to "better" instead of "best" the B Safe got. I assume the major difference (because one of the major differences in the seat) is the weight of the car seat. I was sort of surprised to see the Mesa just get a "better" rating, that thing is a behemoth and I would have assumed it would rank higher.
