@boogs @mediagirl

I love the paste tubes, and what you don't use you can freeze. I do it all the time. My favorite one is the Thai seasoning one, I use it in my curry.

I will be looking for basil spray, yum! Now I want pesto...

@Boogs: @mediagirl: They last a couple of months at least. If you cook even just a moderate amount, you'll definitely use one up before it goes bad. Especially the parsley, basil, and other basic herbs.

@Andrea: Yup. It grows back. I threw my last basil plant out because we went out of town for 2 weeks. I need to buy another one. I've only seen basil plants, though. I wish there were more herbs that grew that way.

@bluestriped bee: i always wondered about the little herb plants. so if you ripe off a huge bunch to use, it grows back quickly so you never run out?

Wow, that's cool. I need to look out for it.

As for the tubes of Basil or herbs, they still go bad. Although, I don't know how long they last compared to fresh.

I do like getting the Basil plants that you buy at the grocery store. It's already planted and ready to go. I place the plant in a tall glass and add about an inch of water and just keep adding water. Yeah, this is much easier than those packets of seeds. I'm not a gardner so I suck at keeping plants alive.

Next time, I buy fresh herbs, I plan on freezing them.

@c.sassy: That's a great tip! Do you know how long they last?

@mediagirl: I don't know, but maybe c.sassy does? Oh really, so then what are you supposed to do with basil?

@Boogs: I saw those tubes and thought they looked really interesting. They have to last longer than the herb itself, right?

By the way, something I learned about Basil recently - don't refrigerate it or it will go brown!

@Boogs: Because of the consistency, I wouldn't use them on, say, a salad. But they're great in sauces, marinades, or mixed in other foods. I use them all the time!

@Rubies: I think you can use it just like regular basil! Like if you wanted to sprinkle fresh basil on top of something you could use the spray instead if you didn't have any fresh!

How many of you clicked in anxiously awaiting some big reveal?

Well, to me it is exciting. Basil concentrated spray! I have only tried using it in my salads and it is so yum! The ingredients say sunflower oil and basil. I always seem to waste money and throw away unused basil so maybe this can be my solution? They also have other herbs. Anybody else use this stuff?
