Thank you all for the warm welcome and the stories! Today is 13dpiui, and I am pretty sure it didn't work. I took a CBE plus/minus test and I could swear I saw a faint positive. Hubby even saw the faintest of lines, and he does not have POAS/PIAC addiction or "line-eye" like I do. Dipped two ICs into same urine and again, I could swear there is something there on both of them. *But* I feel like it should be darker by 13dpiui, so I am just regarding these as BFNs. No signs of my period, and of course I do have a few symptoms that remind me of other pregnancies- like heavy sore breasts, cramping, extreme tiredness and nausea. With all of my pregnancies, even those that ended in miscarriage, I had symptoms quite early. With my daughter, I did not test positive until 20DPO, and I tested every single day, multiple times per day, and was absolutely sure of my O date. So for these reasons, part of me still has hope.

I think the worst part of this is the hope, honestly. I have gotten into the routine of every month being a failure and ending with my period, so I no longer allowed myself any hope. But, with this IUI, I actually feel hopeful that maybe it could happen for the first time in a long time. It is a dangerous feeling for me- the worst feeling of this for me is having hope until the bitter end and having it dashed.

I guess I will just keep testing and waiting for an answer. I am thinking of just going into my REs office for a beta, so I don't have to keep on searching for a line. I would like to know definitively one way or the other.

Much luck to you ladies as well- I am glad I finally decided to join a message board. It is nice to read others posts and know that people are here that understand.

Welcome! My husband and I were successful on our first IUI. We were somewhat unexplained IF because my results were pretty good (like you I was slightly hypothyroid and went on meds) and my husband's only issue was a little bit lower volume. I wish you both the best of luck! FWIW, my RE was giving us 5 IUIs before he'd even attempt IVF so if this one doesn't work don't give up - I've seen it just take 3 or 4 trials before.

I'm glad you are here, everyone here is wonderful. ❤️

Welcome! I am so sorry you have to go through this. Have you ever tried acupuncture? I know 2 people personally who had unexplained infertility and ended up getting pregnant with acupuncture and herbs alone after IUI's not working. It didn't help me get pregnant naturally ( i had a lot of issues) but I know it helped in my IVF cycle being successful though. Hope you find yourself pregnant soon. This is a great place to be in the mean time for support.

Welcome! IF is really tough. I also had two losses, and then couldn't get pregnant again naturally for nearly two years. There weren't any clear cut issues with me other than "advanced maternal age" ( :bummed: ) and my husband's SA was deemed "ok, not great." What worked for me was letrozole (Femara) and IUI. We were lucky on our first try. Good luck to you!!

@MrsRice: After trying for over a year and going through surgery for endometriosis, clomid cycles, etc., we were successful with our first IUI with Menopur injections. My little month-old angel girl is asleep next to me as I type this. Blessings take time sometimes. And, it's well worth the wait.

@ TheSwissWifeStyle- thank you for sharing that. So sorry about your losses- but YAY for your pregnancy now! Many blessings to you for a long, healthy pregnancy and baby! :) My doctor has never discussed using baby aspirin or blood thinners. I would guess that he did test for the blood clotting disorders, though he never said so out loud... He tested for many, many things in our first round of bloodwork. I don't honestly know half of what was tested for. But, I will bring this up to him when I call the nurse today to talk about our plan for next month. I want to move ahead to clomid/injectibles/IUI, something more than just clomid.

@MrsRice: Hi, and welcome!

I too had 3 losses, and am now 19w pg. with what I hope is our first LO. (I still get scared that I'm going to jinx it.)

I assume they tested you for blood clotting disorders? While I never got a concrete diagnosis, as soon as I got my bfp this time, I was put on baby aspirin and a daily injection of heparin (a blood thinner.) I truly believe that is what is doing this trick this time around. People (and doctors) will argue that there is no "proof" that putting women with RPL on blood thinners will save the next pregnancy, but I have to disagree! Anywho, that's my story in a nutshell for you.

Best of luck, I know how hard this is

Thank you for the replies. I feel really down today. Just feel like having a crying fit...

I have had a laproscopic surgery that was basically exploratory- to see if anything was amiss. Though it was about 1.5 years ago or so. At the time my doctor said he didn't see anything abnormal, that my uterus, ovaries and tubes all look very healthy. He has said this same thing over and over- you are healthy, you are perfectly normal. There is nothing wrong with you, etc. But there IS something wrong! So frustrating. We are lumped into the "unexplained infertility" group at this time.

I know 11dpo is still "early" but I just keep thinking that it should show something by now. Then crying and praying and crying and... endless vicious cycle!

Welcome! Though I haven't had any experience with IUIs, I have had a ton of experience with losses. I lost 2 prior to my son and 2 prior to this pregnancy.

Can I ask if you've had a hysteroscopy? I had two D&Cs for missed miscarriages while my other two happened naturally. The scarring that my uterus sustained during the D&Cs was preventing my pregnancies to take. I had surgery done to remove that scar tissue and had a natural cycle of TTC after we got the all clear. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant with my 6th pregnancy (will be our 2nd LO).

You may have had all of this done, but thought I'd ask anyway. I know how hard it is to want something so badly and not have it happen. And THE WORST thing for someone to say is "just relax." I wanted to scream at those people too...even if it was my husband! You're very entitled to feel the way that you do, but unfortunately, I have no advice to help you not feel that way.

Just wanted to tell my story and let you know that there are a lot of women here who have had a ton of experience in what you're going through. Sending lots of love

Hello,

I stumbled upon this site while doing some research into the next step of our IF journey- injectibles/IUI. I found a lot of awesome posts here, so thought I would join. I haven't been a member of a message board before, so sorry if I am not doing something correctly or posting in the wrong place.

My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2.5 years now. I have had three early losses in that time. I do have two older children with my ex husband (long story- he was extremely abusive and I am SO BLESSED to have my current husband in my life.) My husband, I will call him Mr. Rice, wants more than anything to have a child with me. He loves my children as his own, but he wants to experience everything from the beginning, pregnancy, birth, newborn, all the good stuff he missed with my two kiddos. I have always imagined myself with a house full of the pitter patter of lots of little feet, and would have a dozen if I could. We tried for the first year and a half without any medical intervention. At that point, we decided to get some testing done to see if there were any answers for us. All of my tests came out to be normal, except for slightly elevated thyroid count. I am now on a low-dose medication to correct that and it is working well. Hubby's semen analysis was pretty good. As our RE said, not perfect but not bad at all. His count is high, morphology is low-end normal, motility is normal.

This past cycle was our first IUI. We had done 3 cycles with clomid and timed intercourse. This time around, we did clomid/trigger/IUI/progesterone suppositories. I am now 11DPO and got a negative this morning on an internet cheapie test. I know it is still early, but I really thought there would at least be a faint line if this worked.

Hubby is telling me to not stress so much, to let everything take its course, that it will work when it is meant to, yada yada. It honestly makes me want to strangle him a little- I feel so sad inside, guilty for not being able to get pregnant, guilty for WANTING another so badly when I feel I should be content with my two lovely kids... I just want to GET pregnant and STAY pregnant until a healthy baby, or babIES, are born. WHY IS THIS SO HARD?

Anyway, this is just my intro to you gals... if anyone has any advice or success stories to share, I would love to read it! Thanks for reading this far.
