@Foodnerd81: Nice!

I called and I can get a manual for free AFTER delivery (so at least I know to take that off my registry.

I can also order another electric if I want as long as it's through a DMEP. I pay full price, but it all goes toward my deductible/OOP max of $1800, which I'll well hit during delivery anyway. So mama's going uptown this week and getting me a Freestyle! LOL.

@indi: I can get a new one! My new insurance plan doesn't have a time limit to order (the rep on the phone had to double check) so I can get a new one in 2014. Definitely worth calling to check.

We have to order ours within a month of birth too to qualify. It might be too late?

I would definitely call and ask though!

@Corduroy: surprisingly there are almost no manuals on my local CL.

@Bookish: great to know! I already have two double electric (one from insurance, one from my sister/hand me down). Now I just want the cheap light manual. Am I hoarding? :)

I got a second one! I called and ordered it, and the only hiccup I had was they didn't realize my plan year restarts in September, not January, so at first they refused. Once I said it was a new plan year, I had zero problems getting a second one. It was so helpful to have one at work and one at home! Definitely call to see if they'll get you one!

I would think if it's a new insurer you would qualify! But corduroy's idea is a good one too!

Have you looked one craigslist? My insurance company gives out manual pumps to fulfill the insurance requirement but everyone that pumps buys a double electric. As a result there are a ton of new in bow manual pumps on craigslist for almost nothing. Might be an option if your new insurance company doesn't cover a pump.

I'm looking into it, too! My old insurance policy through work in 2013 paid for 80% of a double electric, even though baby isn't due until late February of this year. Now I have an individual coverage policy since our work policy cancelled. I'd love to get a free manual (or even a Freestyle if they're going to give me a new double electric on this plan). Please update when you find out. :-) I know most every policy is different, but it's interesting to see how it's working for folks.

Hmm, I had to order mine within a month of R's birth. It probably depends on the insurance company and specific plan.

I got a Medela double electric pump at no extra cost through my insurance while I was pregnant, in 2013. Since then, I switched my insurance to be under DH's plan and it's a new plan/calendar year, of course. Does anyone know if the new insurance is likely to pay for another pump? I want to get a manual (after lugging my big one across the country and not taking it out of the bag the whole trip) and it just occurred to me that I may be able to get it through the insurance.

I'll call on Monday, just wondering if anyone has heard anything one way or the other?
