Ha I would have to cook in order to have a recipe fail! I used to love cooking but no time or energy lately. Now it's dump a bunch if chicken breasts in the slow cooker and eat various shredded chicken things all week.

@sweet_p: the worst things about fails like that is that it is such a loss of money! Food is not cheap.

Especially when I started experimenting with gluten free/paleo recipes... Every bought almond or coconut flour? Not cheap!

I found a recipe last week for a pumpkin, greek yogurt, banana bread. Followed the recipe exactly but the top of my bread was too brown, while the middle was still raw and doughy. Definite fail! :(

@Emsmems: ewww!!! hahaha pond water??

@HLK208: I tend to stick to recipes that have ratings or comments, or from blogs I trust. As long as it's a dinner recipe I can sometimes judge how the combination of ingredients will taste... baking it much harder though. So because of that, I've had more success.

Made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins from an online recipe. Had to call my mom the next day for her recipe because it just wasn't right unless it's my mom's recipe!

We made the blue punch that has gone around Pinterest for my baby shower that is supposed to look like water and you float the rubber duckies on top. The punch was a weird brown/gray color! It tasted good, but it was definitely not aesthetically pleasing!!

I pinned a coconut squash and sweet potato soup last week and made it today... seriously I am forcing it down. It tastes like baby food. Blegh. And instead of the bright, pretty yellow color in the picture it more closely resembles the color of refried beans.

Any recipe fails lately?
