@lawbee11: REALLY?! I had no idea. We will start doing that! Wait, nevermind. DH just said he already does that. Bummer.

@Smurfette: Yeah, probably a couple more months before her LO is ready for that. Thanks for the shout-out, though :silly:

@citymouse: I definitely think it's worth investing in a new swaddle. You've probably still got another couple of months of swaddling ahead of you! ETA: Also, if you velcro it before washing it that helps. Not sure if you already do that.

@Smurfette: the ZipadeeZip! It's fantastic, but it's for transition out of a swaddle. It might work...but it doesn't give the real swaddled feeling.

@Smurfette: Zipadee zip? We didn't start using it til we were ready to swaddle wean around 4 months. Before that we used the swaddle strap which was great.

We used receiving blankets until L was almost 5 months old! We were able to tuck her hands by her face. We did a double wrap to prevent her from breaking out. It took some time to learn how to get the wraps tight enough, but eventually we liked wrapping with blankets better than any swaddle

@citymouse: we haven't used a woombie, but my best friend swears by hers, and her son is still using it at 7 months. Might be good to try!

@Smurfette: @Pumuckl: Do you think the Woombie is a good next option for us? He breaks out of the swaddle because he wants his fists right under his chin. So he wiggles the arm that goes against his body (like wraps around his belly area) until its loose, which then gives the outer arm a lot more room (because it is no longer pressing against the bottom arm) and then he usually settle with his hands right under his chin.

@citymouse: hahaha on your comment, I was gonna say it depends on how much you value sleep :) If your LO sleeps well without a swaddle I'd say you're good - if he doesn't then the new swaddle might be worth it.

ETA: @Smurfette great minds :)

@citymouse: Well at 8 weeks, I know there was no way R was ready to sleep without a swaddle, so I would go ahead and bite the bullet and get another one.
Sleep trumps money!

DS is 8 weeks old. We currently use Ergo Swaddlers:

http://store.ergobaby.com/swaddlers

However, the way it secures is velcro. And after many washings, and DS getting stronger, he is able to break out. The velcro isn't as sticky these days! Also, if he cries for more than a few minutes, he is a sweaty mess.

I know most babies are done with their swaddles around 4 months, do you think it's worth it to get a different swaddle? I was thinking one of the lighter weight woombies. He loves to have his fists right under his chin. I know they aren't that expensive but I hate wasting money. Thoughts?
