Glad your temp spiked! Remember that the temp rise is actually caused by the rise in progesterone following ovulation, not by the precise event of ovulation itself. So you may have actually ovulated around the cramping, but it can take a day for your prog levels to rise enough to raise your BBT.

okay one last questions I swear! lol...do you know if you ovulate within 12-48 hours after your FIRST positive OPK or your LAST positive OPK?

The egg lives for up to 24 hours, so tonight is definitely not too late, but if you've been doing it every day, you should already be fine too. Sperm lives for up to 5 days.

Thanks! I will keep charting to see what happens over the next couple of days...I guess only time will tell! I am just so worn out from all the BDing I just want it to happen already, lol

i think it's a combination of everything. can't rely solely on opk sticks and solely on temps, because temps could change based on other circumstances (maybe sleeping without blankets one night vs. next? sleeping with mouth open?).... i think it's possible you already ovulated. just keep taking temps to see what the charts say. everyone's different. good luck!

Thanks so much for your input...I normally have a 25 day cycle and today is CD13 so hopefully it happens today. My husband and I have been BDing everyday since Thursday. We will try to keep BDing and wait and see if my temp rises tomorrow, fingers crossed! If I ovulated this morning, is it even worth it to try and BD when I get home from work at 6pm or will it be too late?

Since the temp shift doesn't occur until after you ovulate, you could definitely still ovulate today. The problem with charting is that you don't know for sure until 3 days of temps above your cover line. So keep BDing. An OPK is a good predictor of O, but doesn't guarantee it. Your body could potentially release the hormone and "try" to ovulate, but then it doesn't happen.

But I bet you'll see a temp shift soon. Some people have an O "dip" also right before the temp shift.

I'm hoping some of you charting experts can help me figure this out. I just started charting this cycle so I am a little confused as to what is going on.

I have been using the clear blue OPK's (the smiley ones), and I got a - OPK on this Monday morning, a + OPK Monday evening, and a + OPK Tuesday (yesterday) morning. I did not test again Tuesday evening, but this morning I got a - OPK. I had distinct cramps on and off all day yesterday until around 8 at night, so I assumed I had ovulated since the cramping stopped around then, but this morning, I did not have a thermal shift, in fact, it went down to 97.27 from 97.51 the day prior.

So my question is: Since I did not have a thermal shift this morning, did I not ovulate? Or do you think I will be ovulating this morning? I just assumed since the cramps were pretty distinct that meant I was ovulating. Now I do not have any cramps and also a negative OPK. Is it possible I have already ovulated or no?
