yeah, around that age, she dropped to 2 naps and we were on a 2-3-3 routine. so i put it down at those times no matter what! it wasn't a time on the clock, but time after waking up. she switched between having 1 long nap and 1 short and i never knew which would be which!

Thank you all for your responses!

I have googled the 2-3-4 and believe she is definitely transitioning to something like that. Maybe more like 2.5-3-?.

The first morning nap is coming together nicely, but the afternoon nap is still a mystery. I never know if I'm going to get a 30 minute nap or something else. Until very recently it was always a 30 minute nap, which required another nap before bed, or a very early bedtime.

Bedtimes have been meltdowns lately. So I'm thinking I have work to do in the afternoons.

How long do your babies tend to sleep on average for naps? I see people speak of 2 hour naps! I'd be less surprised to see a unicorn!

Thanks again!

Google the 2-3-4 nap schedule - it was a total lifesaver at that age for me. Good luck!! (And welcome!)

Hi! My LO is 7 months and is on 2 naps per day, awake for 3hrs at a time and maybe 3.5hrs before bed. I agree with the tired signs...LO's are all over the place, so I go by the clock.

welcome!!

i had a chronic catnapper in the beginning months! a schedule did help us tremendously. i think at 7-8 months he was newly on a 2 nap schedule...going about 2.5-3 hours between naps/wake/bedtime.

good luck!!

Hello everyone!

I'm a new Mum to a lovely 7.5 month old girl and I am struggling, to say the least, with naps. We under went some sleep teaching at the beginning of March ( had been cosleeping) and she now sleeps in her crib, through the night. No wake ups, which was not my goal. But she self night weaned. I'll take it.

My problem is naps. Her tired signs are inconsistent and what works one day beautifully fails the next. Most naps are 30 minutes although she is stretching some out.

My question is this, have you found that having a schedule is useful? To this point I have allowed her to wake up whenever and go to bed between 6-7. Bedtime is set.

What was your LO doing for wake times between naps at this age? I'm thinking that I may have to go more by the clock with her but have no clue as I've tried it and my timing is obviously way off.

Naps are so demoralizing!! Nothing makes me feel more like a rookie than nap time.

Thank you!
