I agree w/ others that your timing with sex may not be lining up right since your cycle length is changing. What app do you use? I found that by recording my temp & then also using OPKs I was able to very accurate figure out when I'm ovulating so we can have some very productive sex! Best of luck! :goodluck:

@simply_london: I see you are new...welcome! I agree with PP that ovulation can be all over the place. I don't temp but I have used OPKS and will this cycle. There are different types of OPKS. With some (and most) you take the test and the test line needs to be just as dark or darker than the test line to be positive. This month, I am using digital opks which are more expensive, but you don't have to worry about the shade of the line, etc. The digitals just give you a smile if it's positive and O if negative. I got mine on amazon and it comes with 20 tests which is enough for 2 months. I am using the "classic" digital this month but there is also an advanced digital which tests for a spike in estrogen which typically happens before your LH surge. This one has to started on a certain cycle day and can't be used more than once a day. Basically, it's a lot more finicky because it has to create a baseline for your estrogen surge but it also gives you a longer heads up before O. If you have questions about this one, there is another Bee using it this month.
Oh my gosh, so much info! Anyway, these are my suggestions for OPKS (especially starting out.) With your partner's low sperm count, I also recommend every other day.

@simply_london: ovulation prediction kit. You take them like pregnancy tests, when you get a positive, your body is gearing to ovulate within 12-36 hours

@Happygal: It feels like a lifetime even though I know its not lol

He went to the doctor and they told him that it would be hard for him to make a baby and that his sperm count was low. Im guessing he should just go get checked out again because its been a few years since they told him that.

The app tracks my period and when im fertile/ovulate but it doesn't track anything else

If your partner has a low count having sex every other day during your fertile period could be helpful. Instead of every day/

Make sure your app is taking into account your actual cycle length and not just defaulting you to ovulating on cycle day 14. For example, my cycles are about 35 days, so I ovulate around day 21 (average is to ovulate 12-14 days before your period).

ETA: definitely look into OPKs for a few months if you are confident when you ovulate.

And is the app you're using based on CM, temps, OPKs? You need a lot more info to pinpoint ovulation.

4 months feels like a long time when you're really ready, but it's really not long at all in the TTC world. In fact, couples are told that they can expect to try for up to a year.

I can't tell from your post, but are you certain your partner has low sperm count? An analysis also shows things like motility and morphology. An IUI could be helpful b/c it bypasses a lot of hurtles for sperm, but you would want to go through all the other typical testing first.

My partner and I have been ttc for 4 months we've never used protection and ive never been on birth control, I have an app that tells me when I ovulate etc not sure if its even acurate but I have sex on the days it says im fertile/ovulate. My partner has low sperm countx would it make it twice as hard for me to become pregnant? What can we do to help us conceive? Im new to all this so bare with me :)

On another note: Last month (May) i got af from the 5th-7th i did what i had too with my partner on the week i ovulate etc. I had what i thought was preg symptoms which included nausea, fatigue, headache, cold like symptoms that only lasted 7 days, pain on the left side front/back, bloating, abdominal cramps, moodiness, my breast hurt (which they never do not even when i have af) had pain in the middle of my tummy. Took a hpt on 11dpo, 13dpo, 16dpo and 18dpo all were negative. Whats strange is after my period at the start of the month it came back again 2 weeks later on the 26th-29th of May a week and days before af was originally due. Its never happened to me before and im not sure why it happened.
