Thanks again everyone! @adira I did purchase a bbt thermometer at Target so hopefully its readings are accurate. And yes after a nice session of googling anything I come out of it convinced that I will drop dead at any moment lol

My pre-O temps are often in the 96.5 to low 97s range. I wouldn't worry at all at this point!

Welcome! That doesn't sound super low, especially since you haven't established a normal pattern for your own waking temperatures--it will probably take a few months before you get a general idea of what is normal for your body. Google is sometimes the worst thing to do when you have health questions! (For me, anyway--I always end up convincing myself that I have cancer or something)

Pre O my temps range from 96.8 to 97.5. I had no idea that low temps could be linked to infertility. Good thing I didn't know that because it would have been something else I stressed about!

@chibee welcome! I'm glad you delurked and joined!

@chibee: Make sure that you're using a BBT thermometer as opposed to a normal thermometer. When I first started charting, I was using a regular thermometer and my temps were WAY low (around 95.0!). When I switched to a BBT one, they were still low (around ~97.0 pre-ovulation) but higher than what the regular one thought.

I was a little concerned bc my temps were higher than most. Around 98 before ovulating. I dont think it matters, only the relative movement of your own temperature to itself. Good luck!!

Thank you! I get carried away because when I googled "low bbt" scary words like "hypothyroidism" and "infertility" were popping up. I've been lurking for a while, this board is very helpful and informative!

My pre O temps were usually around 97 degrees. It's totally normal. In fact, I've never had a temperature near "normal" 98.6. Good luck.

ETA: Welcome!

Hi all! I am not actively TTC yet but this is my first cycle off the pill (after 10 years!) and I have started charting just to see how my body works for the next few months while we get ready. I am on CD6, and I noticed my temp is way lower than most, ranging from 96.3 to 97.3, mostly under 97. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal? Thanks!!
