My LO was 8lbs5oz, 21 inches, and he was in NB for about 4 weeks. Everyone told me I wouldn't need NB so I didn't have much to start. I ended up having to buy some extra sleepers to tide us over.

E was 6lbs 2oz and at almost 10 weeks she is still comfortably in NB except for one piece sleepers. Because of her length she's in 3 months for anything with feet, but they're so wide on her!

@youboots: ooo ya some gowns are definitely on my list and they probably can be a bit bigger anyways, i would assume! good thinking. but i definitely will pick up a couple little jammies in newborn just in case she's swimming in 0-3.
i have a suuuuper skinny friend who just had a 10 lb 12 ozer and i have NO IDEA how that baby fit in her! so you just never know! haha.

@loki: M and I both were almost 9 lbs also. I'm 5'4" so I certainly hope our baby does not weigh 9 lbs ;) but my Mom did it. Anyways, I bought a few newborn things at $1 each at a kids consingment store to have on hand and some one size Carters gowns that look small. If our babe will be in NB for awhile I will just have M run to Target or get a few extra items on Baby Gap once they arrive. I hear for the first few weeks sleepers are gowns are way easier than regular clothes.
