I don't feel comfortable with a carrier because my dog pulls if he sees another animal, unless I see the animal first and give him a tug. So if I miss the squirrel in the tree, he tries to climb up and drags me with him.

Stroller works for us. But I prefer to walk him when dh is home so we can all go together. Or I let him out back.

My dogs both do great with the stroller, fyi. Gabby on my left, stroller in front of me (obviously, lol) Lola on my right. I practiced with it before the baby got here in case they freaked out but we've never had an issue. It just depends in the dog!

Had to deal with it this week. My husband takes her (the dog) before he leaves and usually she's good till he gets home around 4pm. If not she just has to wait till LO goes down for a nap! Thank god our pup has amazing bladder skills.

@Sammyfab: Our dog actually walks better with a stroller since there is less to distract him, and if he doesn't pay attention one of the wheels will get him.

We got our puppy when DD was 5 months old and I would usually bring her out with me in the carrier when I took him out. Some days the two of them would work together to make life seem impossible:)

Definitely do the carrier, not stroller. I have seen people really struggling with stroller plus dog on a leash.

If it's a nice day out I put DS in a carrier and go for a walk with our dog. Otherwise DH walks our dog before bed.

Stroller + dog on a leash = not fun

This is something I wonder about too! We have one dog right now, and she is fine during the day for about 9 hours between walks, so I'm assuming my husband will be on doggie duty whenever we do have a baby (just started TTC).

My husband keeps talking about getting a second dog and I just look at him like he's CRAZY! Does he want a baby or another dog... cuz he can't have both, HAHA!

I'm dealing with this now and I'm so worried! For right now my mom is with me so I leave the baby in her care while I take the dog out. I hate to pay for a dog walker as it's $15/30 minutes in the city (if not more), so I think baby is just going to have to like being in the Ergo. She's so tiny right now that even with the newborn insert it's tough, but hopefully she'll grow into it soon.

Babywearing would be my solution in that case.

Yeek. Make your husband take the dogs out? Hire a dog walker? Jk. I don't know..

So, we have two dogs who have to go out on a leash when they go outside. How do you manage taking them out when you have a newborn? What do you do with the baby? Wait till she is asleep and leave her inside? Put on a baby carrier and take her with you?

How is it I'm just thinking about this now??
