I had 5 different headbands, 1 wrap, and 1 diaper cover, my favorite were the nude ones with different headbands!

I had a dinosaur prop hat that I brought as well as a sports team jersey. He was in his diaper the whole time and the photog provided all other hats (I think 2 add'l is what we went with) and had every color of cheesecloth under the sub. We also used two of those.

We had two. The outfit she came home in (a simple sleeper) and a simple day gown. But we also didn't do a shoot with poses and props.

@coacheswife123: Mine indicated she provides tons of props/blankets/baskets - but I wasn't sure about actual items for the baby to wear! I'll definitely ask!

Thanks for the input ladies! Definitely will place DH and I in jeans and white t's or maybe Polo's...

I think for LO I'll limit it to maybe the following:

-Christmas Hat (just so I have my christmas card photo!)
-2 head bands (just to have options)
-One other hat
-Sleep sack I am knitting her (similar to this http://www.etsy.com/listing/118328530/knitted-baby-wool-sleep-soaker-sack?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=knitting_mid&gclid=CI_0isHI0bYCFTSVMgodTQIArw except I close mine off with cute buttons on the bottom)

I wont HAVE to use all of these but it'll give me some options! :)

And of course...any additional opinions are more than welcome and appreciated!

I'd limit the outfits to one & props to three. The more you move and mess with the baby, the harder it will be for her to stay chilled out & sleepy. I never do more than three different backdrops/prop changes (not including shots with the parents). As far as your outfit... unless you have an excellent photog, bright white tops can really mess with the coloring and exposure of your images! Most people photograph best in natural or jewel-toned colors. :)

We also just kept my lo in just a diaper. Our photographer suggested it because you want to keep the focus on the baby and not the accessories. But I do love a baby in a tutu and headband :)

As for our outfits, she said just wear something simple.

We kept it really simple - did her pictures nude, in a diaper, or wrapped in a white blanket. DH and I wore jeans and cream/taupe colored tops (I wore a wrap sweater over a tank and DH wore an open button up over a tee).

Locking down my newborn session in the next couple days - so I'll be all over Etsy in the near future picking up some "outfits".

Any recommendations on how many? I'm not planning full on outfits, more the headband, tutu, diaper cover, accessory route...

Just trying to get some thoughts on what others have done! Thanks!

Also, I'm thinking DH and I will go the simple jeans and plain white or dark t-shirt route (I may rock some fun accessories) - but I would love any opinions on that as well!
