@scg00387: We just used a rolled up blanket because of safety concerns. We only used one though.

Yep this reinforced my worries about it. I think I'll skip it. I'm going to investigate the rolled up blankets though, thanks @purrpletulips!

I had a snuzzler in the car seat for my dd but got my hand slapped by the california highway patrol when I went to go get my car seats inspected by them. The police officer said those were dangerous and should be removed. He also removed the mirror (can't see my baby anymore!) and the toy bar (I knew that one was coming though). He also made me put all of the loose toys I had in the car in a mesh bag.

our hospital recommended rolled receiving blankets on either side of the head if needed; however both DD and DS didn't flop sideways, they flopped forward so I spent several weeks riding in the backseat with my index finger lightly holding their head back against the car seat.

I always follow the recommendations to not put extras like the snuzzler in the carseat. We didn't often have a problem with LO's head flopping, but occasionally we would roll up a burp cloth or thin blanket to help prop her head. That doesn't affect the straps.

Anyone have thoughts on the kiddopotamus snuzzler? http://www.amazon.com/Kiddopotamus-Snuzzler-Complete-Support-Ivory/dp/B000DZS720/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1354724242&sr=8-2&keywords=newborn+head+positioner We are taking a 6 hour car trip to move with our 2 week old next week and someone recommended it.

I am wary of things that go in carseats - I don't know if we'd have to take out the infant wedge to make it fit? (Britax Chaperone) but I do stress about him wrenching his head to the side even with someone sitting next to him (me or my Mom).
