Ha! We just got real tears about a week ago (she's 10 weeks) and sadly she got a blocked tear duct and now her eye is all crusty.

My LO cried with tears just after a few days! I was so sad to see such huge teardrops running down her face right from the start. She's over 5 months and still cries frequently!

My LO's first tears were following her 2 month vaccinations. She had a low grade fever and was just out of sorts. Poor baby.

@chopsuey119: my lo had reflux so there was lots and lots of crying. It was pretty awful, she'd cry for hours and nothing I did would soothe her.

wow I just learnt something new.. I just assumed they cried with tears from day one. I've seen so many videos of newborns crying and never noticed that they had not tears rolling down their face. Is there a reason for this?

I don't remember, but it had to be at least a month. I remember that the first time I saw her tears was awful, I was heartbroken. Still am every time I see them.

I started seeing tears when she was 3 days old? I remember because LO was tongue-tied and wasn't eating and when I went to a breastfeeding clinic, her pediatrician wanted to check her weight. LO started crying and the pediatrician said, "Oh, good, she has tears...That means she's not dehydrated." That's when I first noticed the tears.

Hurmm.. My LO didn't cry much when she was little. I wanna say she started crying tears at 5 months?
We've only seen tears about half a dozen times in the 9.5months our LOs been with us.
