It looked big on him but I think it did the job. We still have to fasten them really tight, but they seem to hold everything in. She's just 8lbs now, but the bigger diaper helps her bigger clothes actually fit her! My LO is about 14 lbs, but she's still fitting in the 1s w/o having any red marks. Sure, they were a little bigger but they fit fine enough. The big difference I noticed was that the 1s had so much absorbancy (which was an issue for me at that time because due to his jaundice issues I was supposed to be recording every time he peed and pooped but I couldn't tell when the 1s had a pee....they'd absorb many many pees).</p> <p>So, I'd say switch if baby is out-peeing the NB size.</p> <p>I'm cloth diapering using NB sized diapers still at 5 weeks. It always contains the poop but he frequently out-pees them. I am going to keep using the NB size though. It doesn't bother me too much because pee isn't very yucky.
