I'm sure it is absolutely normal! DS does a weird, disconcerting thing too. If you're worried that you're not explaining it right to your ped, go ahead and take a video! You'll feel better :)

@fussygal: Hmm, I feel like she still did it after she was 1 month old. It started slowing down from happening multiple times a day to just a few and then eventually only every few days before it stopped completely. I was freaked out about it too but she wasn't bothered by it and her Dr reassured me it was normal. I also have a cousin whose son did it and his Dr said the same thing. I hope it goes away for her though. (I didn't mean to downplay your concern… Its so easy to worry in those first few weeks, but I think it sounds normal)

@chopsuey: depends. Sometimes it's just a few twitches and sometimes it's for a few minutes semi-off and on (if that makes sense!). When I was freakin out this afternoon DH sent me a video and article earlier of another baby doing it and the article says it's normal I guess. It's just so hard to watch!! :(

@creativemomma15: At what she did she stop?

DD did this too. Our pediatrician talked about newborns nerves connecting and that being part of it. He said it was normal. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

DD is 13 days old and sometimes when she's sleeping she starts twitching. It's not like the twitch you have that jolts you awake when you're almost asleep/half awake, but it's more of a continuous twitch in her arms and legs. Is this normal? It happens multiple times a day when she's napping. I've asked her ped and she seems to think its fine as long as it's not happening while she's awake, but it's SO freaky :( I almost want to record it and bring it in to the doctor to make sure they understand what I'm talking about.
