We went to WDW when I was 6 and it was great. When I was a kid, we went almost every year, starting from my first birthday! I haven't been very often at all since high school, but we took LO on a Disney Cruise last year and I got sucked in again. This spring, we are taking LO to Disney World for the first time and I can't wait. We will be staying at the Polynesian, which is super exciting to me because although my parents were super fans, our family never actually stayed on-site.</p> <p>DH is more of a "late bloomer". He only went once as a kid and was almost anti-Disney when we were younger. He was really impressed by the cruise we took though, and it didn't take much to convince him to do the trip this year. Our LO loves a bunch of Disney characters so I think that won him over.</p> <p>I am super jealous that you live near Aulani. Even in high school our grad night was at Disneyland I went but became anti disney. When my nephew was born it was like a whole new world and soon became obsessed. I thought I'll just have fun with LO this once and then check it off my list but it was so much fun! We went during a non-busy time, planned everything out, got to see everything we wanted and I had really LOW expectations. The second time, more of the same but added a special Disney party, Disney date night and brought along my mom aka the nanny. Plus we stayed at a Disney Resort. The third year, we went to DW and I just didn't get it all down like I had it at Disneyland so I want to go again (year 4) to 'master' the place and see the stuff I had missed, including winter decor. And of course --experience LO and DH having an awesome unforgettable 'magical' time. :) @Torchwood: Yes!! DH, on the other hand, worked at his uncle's baseball camp in FL every summer as a teen, and they took the kids. So he went, herding a bunch of boys, multiple times per summer for years. He basically hated it. But now he's said multiple times how excited he is to take LO on a Disney cruise and to WDW in a couple years. I went once as a babe and once as a young teen and it was not fun. I would go so far to say I was anti-Disney up until LO was 1 year and slowly I evolved in a full blown fan. Like I get an insatiable itch that must be scratched by booking another trip! I rarely spend money on Disney products but I will definitely spend free time reading, planning and booking Disney vacations and visiting the Disney property-Aulani- near our house. </p> <p>Anyone else a late bloomer with Disney? Feel free to write anything about Disney, the land, the world and I will read it with complete enthusiasm....I even watched the 4 hour PBS Documentary about Walt Disney last month! Can't believe how much I changed from a nay to a yay. </p>
