I agree that we had a lot more fun on the Canadian side. I highly recommend August because the vineyards are at their peak in August. </p> <p>The American side is kinda lame. I live about 30 minutes from the US side. My husband and I went to Niagara Falls on a road trip and we enjoyed it a lot but we were admittedly a bit disappointed in the respect that it is pretty touristy. There is a lot nearby but I wouldn't pay extra to stay super close to the falls since I personally enjoyed the surrounding area more. A couple things to keep in mind.<br /> July/August is by far the most expensive time to be there.... both weekday and weekend so accommodation will be much more expensive then if you go in May-June or Sept/Oct if that is an option.<br /> I have heard good things about Great Wolf Lodge but haven't been there myself. It's within driving distance, and we've always wanted to go. We'll probably visit Canada while we're up there, but no details are planned yet. We're thinking July or August, so Sadie will be 17/18mo. </p> <p>So, to anyone who's been or lives close: Advice/tips? Anything I should know or consider while planning? Must sees? Anything to avoid? </p>
