Her name is Emma. There is no relevance there and the nickname wasn't shorter than her already short name! You can't just pick a random name out of thin air and decide that is the child's nickname. My BIL is really obnoxious and super self centered and they named their son after him. He goes by his middle name but it has a really cute nickname and we call him that ;) To be fair it started because it was way easier for LO to say. We actually call our niece by the nickname LO gave her too... haha, maybe we're just terrible people. We would stop if they asked though, for now we'll blame LO :)</p> <p>Edited to add: we purposely picked names for our girls that have lots of nicknames and LO1 responds to several different versions of her name, even ones that have nothing to do with it (ladybug).
