It doesn't project but creates a lovely colourful glow in the room, and is a nice amount of light for sleeping. It stays on for 45 minutes and she'll turn it on throughout the night if she wakes up. We have the nemo projector. Found it at the grocery store while on vaca when I forgot to bring his regular nightlight. He loves it!</p> <p>To me it produces a lot of light. My favorite so far is the Ikea round critter night light. We also use a battery powered tea light too. I also use the sound of it to tell me when she's up for the day. However, we are on our second unit as the first one started making a grinding sound and the animals stopped moving. It plugs into the wall like a normal nightlight but projects something on the ceiling (in our case, Spider-Man). I've noticed they have them as like pillow pets but wondering if they have other options. Also wasn't sure about those fish tank looking night lights....I'm looking into something along these lines for my 2.5 year old since she has been insisting on a little bit of light at night these days. We have a basic night light but I want something fun! </p>
